Originally founded by the late aviation legend, Errol Ferreira in 1965 as Free State Aviation at the Old Tempe Airport in Bloemfontein it moved to the New Tempe Airport just west of the city in 1980 when the airport was established. In 1993, Errol’s youngest son, Wyndham joined him in the business where he is still the sole owner, actively involved in the business on a daily basis.

Ferreira Aviation is proud to have only the best aircraft maintenance engineers in its full time service. With a combined experience of more than 200 years in the industry, you can rest assured that your aircraft will be in the best possible care at all times.

We also employ two full time commercial pilots with extensive light aircraft experience to test fly, collect and deliver your aircraft anywhere in Southern Africa.

We have in house commercial and test pilots and a fleet of our own A/C to collect and deliver your aircraft anywhere in South Africa for your convenience.

We have invested heavily in our facilities at Tempe Airport to create a A/C maintenance centre featuring the latest technology and supreme tooling to cater for the high demands of our service standards.

At Ferreira Aviation we strive to do things differently offering our customers a unmatched service experience in the industry. We have a love and passion for what we deliver and stand for. Should you entrust your planes maintenance being a J3 Cab or King Air in our hands you will experience a service uncommon in the industry. Upon signing the job card you complete our signature aircraft health questionnaire which allows us to determine any abnormalities during the latest maintenance checks. We also take time to download data from the engine monitor which helps to paint a picture of the aircraft’s operating parameters. The aircraft is inspected for any scratches, dents, surface damages or paint abnormalities and recorded. All private belongings are removed from the aircraft, recorded and placed in safe guard. Two qualified aircraft engineers will inspect your aircraft using to latest technology available after which a snag list is completed and our other in house engineers are consulted to arrive at the most economical and best maintenance practices before to solve the snag on hand.

Price options and spare availability is then communicated to our customers using all available methods, i.e. videos, photo’s etc. to explain the way forward. This all is done timeously,  ensuring the lowest downtime possible. In house we have standard operating practices which are strictly adhered to with the maintenance process is in progress. Seat covers are placed on seats, carpets are protected, interior panels protected, cowlings are placed in special designed trestles and spare parts are marked and placed in bins on dedicated aircraft trolleys to ensure that your investment is treated with the utmost care.
